The Time for George Visitor Centre in Haltwhistle, Northumberland is the creation of Diana Bell, author of the popular ‘Mr George the Clock Man’ children’s stories which are based in Northumberland and are about the adventures Mr George has with his daughter Dinah whilst out repairing clocks.
The Centre enables Diana to tell her own story- from her childhood as daughter of the real Mr George right up to the present day as a self-published author.
The centre is located on the main street and is only two and a half miles from Hadrian's wall.

"This story is about a man called Mr George who has an unusual job, he repairs clocks!
Mr George lives in a small Northumbrian town called Woolburn with his wife Cynthia, daughter Dinah and of course Louis the cat!
Mr George hasn't got far to go to work, he just walks downstairs because he lives in the flat above the shop with his family. His shop is on Woolburn high street and it's called 'Mr George's Clock Shop'..."
